The phrase ‘easy as pie’ has always been a little misleading, right? Pie crust – especially gluten-free – is notoriously finicky, and even seasoned bakers can struggle. This pie, however, embraces the term to a T by taking two key shortcuts. First, we call on frozen premade gluten-free crust as the base to cut out the pastry step; second, we use canned pear halves in the filling instead of poaching and coring fresh pears, as is traditionally done for pear pie.
