How to make

Ingredients

  • 1

    Striploin steak (about 10 oz/300 g)
  • 1

    Small onion, sliced in thick rounds
  • 1/8 tsp

    (0.5 mL) each salt & freshly ground black pepper
  • 1

    Portobello mushroom
  • Half 

    Sweet red pepper
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL)

    PC® Splendido Cold-Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1  (300 g)

    Baguette
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL)   

    PC® Steak Sauce

How to make

  • Step 1

    Preheat barbecue to medium-high.,

  • Step 2

    Place steak on greased grill. Cook 4 minutes per side for medium-rare or to desired doneness. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cover with foil and set aside.

  • Step 3

    Toss onion, mushroom and pepper with 4 tsp (20 mL) of the olive oil. Place on grill; cook 7 to 9 minutes, turning occasionally, or until tender-crisp and grill-marked. Remove from grill. Slice mushroom and red pepper.

  • Step 4

    Slice bread in half horizontally. Brush cut sides with remaining olive oil. Place cut side down on grill; cook for 1 or 2 minutes or until toasted.

  • Step 5

    Slice steak thinly. In large bowl, toss steak, onions, mushrooms, peppers and steak sauce. Arrange on bottom half of bread. Place top half of bread on top; press down. Cut in thirds.
