PC® Test Kitchen Chef Allison Jones remembers her grandma’s knack for adding ice cream to just about everything. “After the holiday dinner, my grandma’s table would be adorned with all the treats you could imagine, and still she couldn’t help but pull out a tub of ice cream to tip it over the edge.” When Jones tried the new PC® The World’s Best Egg Nog Ice Cream, she thought, ‘What would grandma do?’ “I couldn’t think of a better way to remember those giants scoops of ice cream she would put on everyone’s dessert than making these over-the-top soda floats. Cheers, grandma!”

Ingredients

  • 4 scoops

PC® The World’s Best Egg Nog Ice Cream (about 1-1/3 cups/333 mL total)
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL)

    white rum (2 oz), optional
  • 1 can (355 mL)

PC® Sparkling Water, Vanilla Cherry Soda Flavour, chilled
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL)

syrup from PC Black Label Amarena Cherries in Flavoured Syrup, plus 4 cherries, divided

How to make

  • Step 1

Freeze 2 large serving glasses for 15 minutes.

  • Step 2

Scoop ice cream into chilled glasses, dividing evenly. Top with rum (if using) and slowly pour sparkling water over top, dividing evenly. (Tip: The drinks will foam up, so slowly go back and forth between glasses to avoid overflowing.)

  • Step 3

Let stand until ice cream starts to melt, about 1 minute. Drizzle in cherry syrup and top with cherries, dividing evenly.

  • Try this:

Spoon a layer of whipped cream over the floats before adding the cherries.
