Easily one of the simplest, tastiest desserts out there, affogato is essentially ice cream or gelato drowned in a shot of hot espresso. Not everyone likes a caffeine jolt after dinner, though, which is why we’ve swapped out the espresso for a shot of hot chocolate, meaning this 10-minute treat won’t mess up your 10 p.m. bedtime.

How to make

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (250 mL)2% milk
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL)PC® Chocolate Milk Mix
  • Half tub (1.5 L tub)PC® Peppermint Hot Chocolate Ice Cream (3 cups/750 mL)
  • 8PC® Dark Chocolate Crepes

How to make

  • Step 1Bring milk to a gentle simmer in small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in chocolate milk mix until smooth. Divide among 4 small serving glasses (such as espresso cups or shot glasses). Set aside.
  • Step 2Divide ice cream among serving bowls. Top with crepe cookies, dividing evenly. Serve ice cream with hot chocolate on the side; pour hot chocolate over ice cream just before eating.
  • Try this: Swap out the crepe biscuits for crumbled graham crackers and mini marshmallows for a s’mores-inspired dessert.
