There are generally three factors to consider as you sip, according to chef Camille Arcese: the acidity of the coffee, how dark the roast is and how light or heavy it feels when you drink it. You want to pair your cup to food that accentuates its flavours and body—and the right coffee can repay the favour to your food. With that in mind, let’s pair some of our most popular PC® Coffees to dishes that do the most for these brews.

The pairing: Let this rich, medium roast coffee’s hints of blueberry and caramel guide you—right to breakfast. Fluffy buttermilk pancakes, studded with blueberries and drizzled with lavender maple syrup, highlight this coffee’s fruity, floral notes. Good morning, indeed.

The pairing: A full-bodied coffee with heady aroma and rich, dark cocoa flavour cries out for a savoury dish that’s just as rich and bold. Enter chili-spiced steak and eggs—buttery, earthy and with a hint of heat, it’s an unexpectedly cool brunch combo. Chef’s tip: add a pinch or two of finely ground coffee to your steak spice for extra kick.

The pairing: A balanced cup with notes of stone fruit and honey, this coffee walks the line between sweet and savoury. We like it paired with whipped ricotta toast, topped with peaches and figs and drizzled with honey. This delicious coffee’s flavours really come through alongside this crunchy, creamy, fresh snack.
