How to make
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 mL)Granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (125 mL)Each fresh blackberries and blueberries
- 1/3 cup (75 mL)Gin
- 1/4 cup (50 mL)PC®Organics Balsamic Vinegar of Modena
- 4Large fresh basil leaves
- PinchSalt
- 3-1/2 cups (875 mL)Ice cubes
- 2 cups (500 mL)Carbonated mineral water
How to make
- Step 1Combine sugar and 1 cup (250 mL) water in small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; boil for about 1 minute or until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat; pour into glass bowl. Place bowl on top of another ice-filled bowl to cool.
- Step 2Place blackberries and blueberries in pitcher. Using wooden spoon, muddle together until most of berries are mashed. Stir in gin, vinegar, 1/3 cup (75 mL) cooled sugar syrup, basil leaves and salt. Stir in ice then mineral water.
- Step 3Pour into chilled glasses to serve, spooning in macerated berries. Garnish with additional basil leaves, if desired.
