Learn How We Help
Making lives easier
President's Choice® Children's Charity helps Canadian children live to their full potential.
We are committed to supporting children's health and wellness across Canada. Our focus is on childhood nutrition and children with disabilities.
DISABILITY
Direct financial support for families
President's Choice® Children's Charity provides grants to families to assist with the costs of equipment, home accessibility modifications, respite care, developmental and physical therapy and accessible vehicles. Nisha from Scarborough, for example, is one of Ontario's grateful beneficiaries. The charity provided financial support to buy a wheelchair accessible van and now Nisha can travel comfortably to her appointments and family outings in a vehicle that is specially suited to her needs.
Who applies for assistance?
President's Choice® Children's Charity receives applications from families whose children have been diagnosed with a range of disabilities including cerebral palsy, autism, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida and various developmental delays. The average age of children we help is 8 years old.

CHILDHOOD NUTRITION
President's Choice® Children's Charity helps kids through grants for nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack programs. We believe nutrition is fundamental to children’s health and we want to provide the resources necessary to fuel a better learning environment.
- President's Choice® Children's Charity has pledged $7.2 million over four years to help children and youth receive nutritious breakfasts, lunches and snacks.
- Studies show children that maintain a well-balanced, nutritious diet have improved memory, problem-solving skills and creative abilities.
- By sponsoring Breakfast for Learning we also share a vision dedicated to improving the lives of children across Canada. Nutrition is fundamental to children's health and we want to provide the resources necessary to fuel a better learning environment.
- In Newfoundland and Labrador, Breakfast for Learning works in partnership with Kids Eat Smart Foundation and in Quebec, Breakfast for Learning provides funding to Club des petits déjeuners , in addition to providing direct program funding in this province.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada Grant
- In 2011, President’s Choice® Children’s Charity partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada to create the PCCC Basic Needs Brighter Future Program through a grant of $145,900
- Over the last decade, Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada has noticed an increase in the need to provide more food and food related programs of all kinds: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and cooking and nutrition programs. Children and youth simply are not getting access to the resources they require to grow into healthy adults.
- With the support of President’s Choice® Children’s Charity, Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada will provide the necessary programs, resources, training, and where possible, funds to enable Clubs to:
- Feed more young people and their families
- Promote the importance of nutritious food
- Provide a resource for Clubs and their members
