Help in Western Canada
David is 13 years old and lives in Alberta. David has degenerative peroxisomal disorder. He is a cheerful boy who is determined to make the best of everyday despite his disability. Travelling to appointments and simple family outings have always been a challenge for David and his family. With a recent grant from President's Choice® Children’s Charity, David's family was able to purchase a new wheelchair for him. The grant will enable David to get around much easier and to spend quality time with his family and friends outside his home.

"We are grateful for all the support and care provided by the Charity in assisting us with David's needs and helping us to make life easier for him. The grant has given him a lot more freedom to enjoy life; something every child deserves despite their disability."
"I would like to take this moment to thank you for the grant to help purchase a modified van for our daughter Juliana. Thanks to your generosity, our lives are much easier taking Juliana out on family trips and outings."
"With our new van we travelled to B.C. to show Juliana's grandmother the new van. Along the way it was wonderful to take her out to see the sights along the way and her not having to be carried. With the new van we take Juliana to all kinds of places that before were a little more challenging because of all the transferring of her. This van has allowed Juliana to gain her own independence as she is able to follow her sisters into the van on her own. Her older sister loves putting on the tie downs and seatbelt. It's wonderful to see her sister being so involved with her."
